Give the scene a clear identity reference
Your photograph answers one question: who should be in the driver’s seat? It does not need to supply the car, the road or the performance. A well-lit picture taken at home can describe a face more clearly than a dark photo taken through a real window.
Check current availability in the studio before starting. You can select and crop a photo into a local draft. Selecting a photo does not upload it; the selected image is sent only when generation is available and you submit the request. Review the displayed cost and account controls first.
Use your own photo, an authorized adult’s photo or a pet photo you have permission to use. Keep one intended subject visible. Do not use a group photo and rely on the tool to infer which person you meant.
Compare two candidates at the same size
Display both photos at a similar on-screen size. Look at the eyes and mouth before comparing backgrounds. Prefer the image where those details remain distinguishable without zooming into a heavily compressed screenshot. A larger file is not automatically a clearer image.
This guide does not impose a minimum pixel count that the creator has not specified. Follow any file validation shown in the actual upload control. Passing a file check means the file is accepted; it does not prove it is a strong identity reference.
| Feature | Useful starting point | Reason to choose another image |
|---|---|---|
| Face or muzzle | Complete, unobstructed outline | Hand, mask or object covers important features. |
| Eyes | Visible in ordinary light | Glare or deep shadow hides both eyes. |
| Expression | Relaxed or mildly expressive | Extreme shout changes the mouth shape. |
| Subject count | One intended adult or pet | Several faces compete for attention. |
| Detail | Features are distinct at normal view | Compression or motion blur smears the face. |
Check what the crop actually keeps
Select the photo in the photo creator, then use the crop controls. Leave some space around the hair or ears and below the chin. Keep the eyes and mouth away from the crop boundary. If clothing is important to the reference, retain enough shoulders or upper body to show it without making the face too small.
Look at the final draft preview after adjusting. Ask whether a friend could identify the subject from that crop alone. With a pet, check the particular ear, muzzle and fur pattern that distinguishes it from another animal of the same breed. The goal is readable evidence of identity, not a precise match to a reference clip’s framing.
Know which edits help and which invent details
Simple rotation and a careful crop can reveal information already present. They cannot restore an eye hidden behind sunglasses or recover a mouth blurred by motion. Prefer another photograph instead of sharpening until outlines become artificial.
Avoid stacking filters before uploading. They can change skin texture, muzzle shape or eye size, leaving a reference that differs from the subject you wanted. Keep an untouched original and compare your chosen crop against it. Do not darken the photo to imitate nighttime lighting; the fixed scene supplies its own environment.
Use a final three-question check
- Can I clearly identify one authorized adult or one pet?
- Are the defining features still visible in the selected draft crop?
- Am I choosing the image for identity rather than expecting it to guarantee gesture or mouth timing?
Continue with the right workflow
For a dog or cat, continue with How to Make a What Stop Sign AI Video With Your Pet. If a finished video looks right but sounds wrong, use the audio guide instead of repeatedly replacing a good photo. Open the photo creator to prepare the local draft and inspect its current availability.
Questions about this workflow
Do I need a photo inside a car?
No. The photograph is the identity reference; the fixed scene supplies the vehicle and window setting.
Is there a required minimum resolution?
No numeric minimum is established in this guide. Follow the creator’s actual file validation and choose an image with clearly visible features.
Does a better crop guarantee a matching face?
No. A crop can make the reference clearer, but identity can still change in generated motion and must be reviewed throughout the video.
